Go to Software Day 2008

Come hear about cutting-edge research in software engineering at the University of Maryland and applied research and technology transfer projects at the Fraunhofer Center Maryland.

This event provides a great opportunity to network with industry and government researchers and computing professionals. Maryland Software Day will feature presentations on innovative research, posters describing ongoing projects, and ample opportunities for informal discussions. Attendees will have a unique chance to peek into the latest software-related research in an interactive and information-rich environment.

The University of Maryland's Computer Science Department is renowned in software engineering and programming languages, with special expertise in many areas, including empirical methods and measurement, program-analysis tools, software design and modeling, software testing and quality assurance, and verification and validation. The Fraunhofer Center, a not-for-profit affiliate of the Computer Science Department, is an applied-research institute that works with government and industry to advance their software practices via software engineering research and technology transfer projects.

Agenda highlights include:
  • A keynote address by Professor Victor R. Basili, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland and founder of the Fraunhofer Center Maryland .
  •  Research sessions on Empirical Software Engineering, Software Productivity Improvement, Software Design, Software Testing and Quality Assurance, and Embedded Software.
  •  Posters by Maryland faculty and students and Fraunhofer scientists on current research projects.
